Physical Education

Foundation – Foundation students continued working on basic movement skills such as run/walk/hop/skip and jump. They were given time to individually play with beanbags and hoops. They were also taught simple rules and fair play through a mixture of skills sessions and playing small games.

Year 1 & 2 – Year 1 and 2 students continued refining and further developing ball handling skills such as throwing and catching through the use of skills sessions and simple games such as dodgeball. We also focused on improving their basic movement skills such as running, jumping and dodging through different variations of dodgeball games.

Year 3 & 4 – Year 3 and 4 students were introduced to sport specific skills of European Handball and Tennis. Students discussed rules to the games and worked on strategies to play as a team. While playing small sided games students continued to maintain and improve on their fitness levels during our lessons.

Year 5 & 6 – Year 5 and 6 students were introduced to sport specific skills of Dodgeball and Soccer. Students were taught rules to different dodgeball games and had to come up with different strategies as a team to win these games. During our PE lessons students continued working on their fitness levels while participating in dodgeball and soccer games.
